Gideon the Ninth

by: Tamsyn Muir

I could not predict in any way where this book was going and through every sentence I was pushing through to get to the end. It was an incredible read. The characters were amazing and the world-building was simply the best I’ve ever read. I waited for months to read this book due to my library only having three copies and wondered if it was really worth the wait.

It was. More than worth it.

The characters were all so individual and so vivid. The story was incredible. I couldn’t stop reading. When I was tired and my eyes were begging to be shut, I forced myself to keep going, just until a page break because I couldn’t put the book down.

Every twist was impossible to expect which was something I appreciated. And the writing style was gorgeous. Perfectly casual and easy and incredible as if that one funny friend you have was telling the wildest story they’d ever heard. I felt sucked in and glued to the page.

It was truly a wild ride from the very first page to the last and I cannot wait for the next book. If I can pre-order it, I will. This series will be the one I recommend to people when they ask me what to read.

And the casual lesbianism was so perfect. Oh wow it was amazing. To have it represented just like every other facet of life without anyone being weird about it, I couldn’t have been happier. Every time it was on the page I smiled.

Five Stars.
