This book is described as a dirty British novella and that it is.
Set against a Brexit background, our characters are old friends. James Foster is the best friend of Nina Chapman’s older brother. And they’ve both been harboring a flame for each other.
After a one night stand of sorts, their friendship is over. Until Nina starts getting death threats after a blog post.
The Brexit situation is the background for the story and while there isn’t an in detail breakdown of it, it does still play heavily into it. After all if she hadn’t written an article about it, she wouldn’t be getting racist death threats. Someone even attempts to doxx her.
Those moments are fairly tense just because there a bit real. And there are corrupt police.
However, there are steamy parts and I love them.
Nina and James are cute together. I read this in like two hours and it was fun. It killed the time and yeah, I liked it. Four (4) stars.
But if Brexit, racism, death threats or stalking are too much for you, maybe avoid it. Or at least read carefully.
